In 1992, Mr. Duesmann joined at Mercedes-Benz firm in Stuttgart as a design engineer for a V12 series-production engine.
He relocated to the Aachen, Germany-based development service provider FEV GmbH in 1995, where he worked in several capacities, the last of which was head of the engine mechanics division.
He was appointed chief department manager for new diesel engines at DaimlerChrysler AG in Stuttgart in 2004. In 2005, he was appointed head of Formula 1 development at Mercedes-Benz in Brixworth, England.
Duesmann joined BMW AG as the company’s head of Formula 1 powertrain in 2007. He held many accountable positions in that business before serving as a BMW AG Board of Management member for Purchasing and Supplier Network.
